Welcome

The transition centre first open= ed in May 1991 with twenty five students and two fulltime and one part time= staff.

At present we cater for approxim= ately 80 to 85 students.

What Is Y= outhreach?
Youthre= ach is a programme of education and training and work experience for early = school leavers provided in an out of school setting. Youthreach aims to dev= elop the core skills needed for further learning and to prepare young peopl= e to progress to further education/training or to employment.

Who is Yo= uthreach For?

You can= apply for Youthreach if you:
Are aged between 16 and 21.
Have left school early with either no qualifications or minimal qualifica= tions (e.g. have left school without sitting the Junior Cert or have achiev= ed less than 5 grade D's in the Junior Certificate examinations) and are at= least six months out of school.

About Us


Transition centre mission statement 

To provide specialized transition= al, progressive Educational programmes in order to prepare students to avai= l of opportunities for employment or further education..<= /p>

Our centr= e

Our centre is known as the = progression centre and many of the students attending our centre have compl= eted their junior certificate in a foundation centre or school. The Youthre= ach transition centre is one of ten, second chance education facilities bas= ed in the Dublin city council area under the care of CDVEC (City Of Dublin = Vocational Educational Committee). It is part of a network of 100 Youthreac= h centres throughout the country funded by the department of education and = science.

Young people who join the C= entre become students of the centre and their mentors are teachers.  Students are given a weekly allowanc= e, depending on their age.  Th= e minimum age for attending is 16 years and the maximum is 21 years of age.=

Our centre is the main Dubl= in faculty within Youthreach for young people who wish to do the two year L= eaving Certificate Applied (LCA) course.&n= bsp;

Our Youthreach centre is du= e to move premises early in 2009 to no.10/10A Parnell square east, just opp= osite the garden of remembrance.

The centre is open from Mon= day to Friday from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
