
Centre Details:
Ballymun is situated North of Dublin. It is well known for its landscape
and High Rise Flats. The skyline of the area will change shortly as the
high rise flats are being replaced by houses with gardens.
Ballymun Youthreach opened in October 1991, initially catering for 25
young people and presently for 60.
Youthreach is a joint Department of Labour and Department of Education
programme launched in 1988 to cater for unqualified early school leavers
who experience difficulties in the labour market.
Youthreach is a guarantee of up to two years of integrated education,
training and work experience for these young people.
Ballymun Youthreach is one of nine Youthreach Centres run by the City
of Dublin Vocational Education Committee.
Location.
The Centre is located in the Virgin Mary National School occupying five
large rooms, one office, counselling room, literacy room and all purpose
room. The class rooms are situated between two floors

Each student group has a key worker.
Other part-time staff make occasional inputs in various specialist areas:
